![]() If you have a landline, keep it as long as you can even i it costs more with a long-distance carrier. ![]() A phone call once saved my life after a very serious accident, and Verizon Home Phone would not have saved it. Sometimes we need to call in an emergency, and if I couldn't get at my cell phone (which is not Verizon) there would be no help. Most serious, however, is the fact that it so often fails to work. Hopefully the Better Business Bureau will make it possible to remove this stolen line (I filed a complaint last night), but Verizon would not do it on their own. I an currently\being charged $128 a month for the home phone and a limited internet line I've had for years which costs about $40 a month. (That is when it works at all obviously when it gives a busy signal I can't dial anything.) Moreover, someone added their own Verizon Home Phone to my account, and Verizon Live Chat promised twice to take the fraudulent phone off my bill and did not do it. This happens often, and it makes no difference whether I use 1 at the beginning or not. Right now I am trying to call American Express customer service, an 800 number, and get a busy signal before I even dial. I switched recently from a Century Link landline to Verizon Home Phone and am terribly disappointed. Not BBB accredited - No shock there I'll update this when I get my next statement. They changed to Lingo somewhere along the line. By the way, they were called Birch Communications when I signed up. What I am able to get from him: Verizon didn't notify them (A lie, Verizon can't use the number until Lingo releases it - I waited several days for that to happen) I am suppose to still owe the bills more to come which will include a $200 Early termination charge!!! Say I am under some other contract that they can't provide me with. Call again 15 minutes on hold - another guy I can't understand. Lingo continuing to bill me for a service they have not been providing for two months. Finally sick of them, switched the line over to a cell with Verizon. Couldn't bring myself to suffer through a useless episode with overseas customer service agent. The bill was for my gradually ever-increasing bill amount, the letter says I'm being charged another $20 for some other taxes they had failed to include on my bill for the last year. Bogus taxes - unexplained "Other Charges" Got a letter a few months ago with a bill. Over the years, they have added about $25 to my bill. Ask if there is someone who can speak better English and am told "NO" Can't email me. Customer service person I can't understand. Of course they say they don't know anything about that. Never happened! Tried the customer service on that. I agreed to their services in 2018 with free first month and 6th month. After that it's accents you can't translate from call centers with a million other voices in the background. At least the guy who calls to hook you speaks your language. Horrible - Dishonest - Useless Customer Service - Lie about contracts They lie right off the bat when they call you.
